Modern architecture style

The modern architecture style is widely considered to be the newest and youngest form of architectural style, this style requires the architects to design structures while considering important features such as function, location site, and environment. This is a very important concept to remember for modern-day architects when they conceptualize the designs of buildings. The main function of any building is to define its form; this notion was coined by Louis Sullivan, a mentor to Lloyd Wright. This creates the idea behind the development of modern architecture style. When Lloyd Wright designed his residential house, he actually adhered to the landscape surrounding the home.  Keeping in mind of the building site, he designed a home floor plan that matched it. Modern architecture style designers are therefore expected to design their buildings with respect to the functions of the building and the landscape around it. This principle makes all of the buildings assembled through modern architecture style to be unique regardless of the particular architect. Thus, house plans designed with this style in mind gives the residence a sense of modernization and functionality.

The modern architecture style allows the architect to showcase to the world the natural form of the building. This style requires the architects to design house plans with exposed features. A house design modeled based on the modern architecture style tends to be very aesthetic and comfortable to the residents. The modern architecture style allows the architect to merge his/her personal specifications with the modern style and all that it encompasses. Such specifications include textures, colours and finishing materials, as well as, unique home designs with clean lines.

The modern architectural style requires the roofing to be designed as if it were a flat envelope rather than the triangular shape that is used in traditional architecture design. The roof profile is designed to form complex shapes that require an architect with exceptional expertise. The exterior views of such buildings are intended to appeal to the eye and to demonstrate uniqueness from other structures. These buildings are straightforward but aesthetically appealing. This style creates a house design that creates a very unique roofing profile.

The love for clean lines is what makes modern architects fall in love with modern architecture designs. Important structural elements of a home design such as posts, windows, fireplaces, beams, cut outs, and columns are represented in linear diagrams to help the architect design the structure. The modern architecture style allows for use of specific lines during the designing stage that simple are not part of any other architecture styles.

Much like the contemporary architecture style, the modern architecture style allows for the use of several sliding doors as transitions between the outdoor and indoor spaces. It also allows the architects to merge large windows to improve the natural lighting of the homes but also keeps with the privacy of the residents. The modern architecture style allows the residents to make the best use of the available space from the floor plan of the home. The architects have designed sunken spaces and division of floor space to allow the residents to hold conversations within the building in a comfortable and entertaining manner. Walls in a modern style house plan are minimized to increase the floor space and also aims to cut the cost of construction.

In a modern style home design the interior walls serve multiple functions. The internal walls tend to be used by architects to create more rooms for other functions apart from the intended use. Modern houses are more flexible compared to both contemporary and traditional houses. The home designs are always built with respect to the topography of the area. The house designs of the modern buildings utilize glass walls to connect the exterior and the interior spaces, as well as, the external and internal environments surrounding and within the home. These glass walls are also important because they enable for sharing of natural lighting between the exterior and interior floor spaces.

The modern architecture style has introduced artificial flooring as one of the more recent and lower cost construction materials. The construction materials are meant to appear as though there were traditional brick and wood that are normally used in construction of buildings while maintaining cost savings for the project. Several technological advancements have been also introduced by the modern architects.
